President’s Message

Hello Members and Friends of the Dallas Chapter

Your Chapter needs you!

We currently have several positions or needs within the Chapter that need to be filled. This is a chance to give back to the Chapter and become involved with charting the direction of your Chapter!

These positions will run through the end of the 2010 year as appointed by the Board. In October we (the Chapter) will hold elections where members will run for and be officially elected by the members of the Chapters for 2011.

To apply you must be a member in good standing which means, that you have a current membership and the desire to be part of the Chapter leadership.

Open postions:

Director Position
As a Director on the Board you will be expected to:
a. Attend the monthly Board meetings held on the 3rd Wednesday of the month.
b. Attend the monthly member meetings held on the 4th Wednesday of the month.
c. You help with setting the direction of the Chapter and ensure the Board is meeting the demands of the members.
d. Assist with planning of events, and monthly meeting
e. Directors may hold committee chair positions or serve on committees
Monthly time commitment: 5 to 8 hours

Committee Chair Positions
1. Membership
a. Membership committee focuses on growing and retaining members for the Chapter.
b. Outreach programs contacting members about renewing or whose membership is about to or has expired.
c. Promoting Corporate members with firms and companies interested in group memberships
d. Works with Chapter VP or President and Sponsorship Chair
Monthly time commitment: 10 to 15 hours

2. Sponsorship
a. The Sponsorship committee contacts potential groups or companies about sponsoring Chapter meetings, or events
b. Applies for event funding
c. Conducts reviews of sponsorship programs and updates as needed
d. Works with Chapter VP or President and Sponsorship Chair
Monthly time commitment: 10 to 15 hours

AITP Dallas Chapter Announces
MEMBERSHIP DISCOUNTS For Unemployed IT Professionals.

In response to current economic conditions, AITP Membership Services is pleased to announce our latest Membership initiative. We are instituting limited-time membership pricing for unemployed persons.

Commencing June 1, 2010 through December 31, 2010 AITP will offer a reduction to those persons who are unemployed; national dues will be reduced from $105 to $35. The Unemployed discount does not apply to Chapter dues. The unemployed member will be responsible for paying Chapter dues at the full price, as well as applicable Regional Dues. The Chapter will receive these dues as they do now, through the monthly chapter rebate process.

To enroll as an Unemployed Member, please either email memberservices@aitp.org or call AITP Headquarters at 800-224-9371 to verify eligibility and receive instructions for enrolling.
Note: This Program is open to all new or renewing members, but no refunds will be granted for existing members. It is an independent program that is not to be combined with the Spring New Member Promotion or any other AITP special incentives.
